Resistance will tell you anything to keep you from doing your work. It will perjure, fabricate, falsify; seduce, bully, cajole. Resistance is protean. It will assume any form, if that’s what it takes to deceive you.Resistance will reason with you like a lawyer or jam a nine-millimeter in your face like a stickup man.Resistance has no conscience. It will pledge anything to get a deal, then double-cross you as soon as your back is turned. If you take Resistance at its word, you deserve everything you get.
Last night I read Do the Work, by Steven Pressfield. I ran across the book recommendation from Seth Godin’s blog, and gobbled it up in a single sitting – a rare occurrence for me.
This book is all about getting off your butt, telling the voice in the back of your head to shut the hell up, and going to CREATE. It’s about being the real you, not the “you” you think people want you to be or the “you” you know you can easily be.
As I sped through the book last night, I highlighted a lot of good quotes. But I didn’t spend much time on digesting it. It went in my eyes and straight to my heart, resonating with so much within me.
I’ll be back to this book again, and I’ll write more about it later, I’m guessing, but I’m too busy right now for that… so if you want some more lines from the book, read them here:

Or better yet, go buy the book. It’s $5 well spent.
